So what's up with theme nights?? The thread said last night was sports team night, my girl worked hard picking out outfits and no one was dressed in theme outfits?? She has outfits for every theme on the thread but doesn't want to be the only one. If you are dressing for theme nights please post so we will know we are not the only ones...
Theme nights are sometimes hit or miss. April/May not so much, but the other 10 months can be hit or miss depending on the number of cancuncare people there.
I think for a theme night to be popular it has to be something that is: 1. Easy to do - stuff you can pick up easily at a novelty store or something everyone has at home already 2. Popular i.e. something that everybody feels comfortable participating in 3. Flexible enough to do as full-on fancy dress or just light participation such as wearing a couple of accessories 4. Lightweight - if you have to pack an entire outfit or heavy things it might get less participation 5. Not gender specific - a theme that works for both the ladies and gents is going to get roughly 50% more participation 6. Flexible enough to be done sexily, comically and just general fancy dress - not everyone feels comfortable doing the sexy look, and would rather do something comical Themes like glow night, dress to impress, wear a certain colour night - they work well because they're not difficult to do and with glow theme people always bring extra to pass around to get more participation. Smart/sexy dress and sheer night - well majority of people bring stuff like that with them anyway, it's just plucking up the courage to wear it on the day! The alternative is to go in the busier months (seems to be April, May, June, October, November) when I think a lot more are there, so statistically a bigger % end up participating in the theme.
I would like to add that I agree that also a theme night every night is way to hard to get everyone involved.. the resort is starting to set up there own.. what I think would work is pick one night per week and make it a CANCUNCARE theme night. pretty sure that there would be WAY more participation in one night a week.. like you said, a sexy white glow night or a sexy red glow night or a bead night or even just a GLOW night.. these stand out when you have a group of 15 to 20 or more all in the same color.. just my 2 cents
I will be dressing up for lingerie night, white night, and school girl night. I didn't dress up last night, but all other nights I did and it was only me and one other (wacotexas couple). Doesn't seem like a lot get involved this time of year, but still had a blast rocking my outfits.
We would also like to join in theme nights, we maybe would need an appropriate costume/outfit, for some reason i cant find the link the used to be on this site that had awesome clothes etc for sale... why cant I seem to find that link? any help would be appreciated
We've been using Wicked Temptations (as found on these forums) to do some swimwear/costume/dresses shopping for Samantha in preparation for our trip. Just placed our order last night, in fact. I'm definitely a fan of what she chose wink3, and the checkout process seemed fairly simple, except that they apparently need to verify my credit card before they'll ship the order. Hopefully it won't take long.
