At the risk of potentially ruining something good I am wondering how many TTR people use “The Guestbook” for cash back? It is a bit of hoop jumping if they don’t have your reservation beforehand but the last couple trips have been seamless and we get between $200 and $400 back via PayPal or Venmo. You do not make reservations through them (or we didn’t), we just send them our reservation after we made it. There is also and option to get 2.5x as a pay it forward on future stays in their listed hotels. We have not done that. This is separate from Premier cash back/credits or Stay and Play credits as it is not an Original Group company. We have used it at least 10 times.
Appreciate the heads up. I think I maybe tried it once before for a past booking, but I think to much time had passed. Went ahead and linked my future booking for June. Fingers crossed...
I always thought it was part of the Stay & Play promotion. The Temptation website would have the promo rate, plus offer 5% cash back. The reduced rate was from Stay & Play and the Cashback came from The Guestbook. This is how it was when I booked (several years ago, maybe 2021 or 2022) The 5% cash back was legit and could be sent to my PayPal. I didn't book through their (Guestbook) website as their rates were too high.
we have been using it for years... and have also done the pay it forward, when we went to TTR Miches and then back to Cancun. Never had any issues and always tell our friends to make sure they do it. Even using the Premier rates, @ 400/night that's an extra $20 back... times 7 is $140. pays for parking and meals at the airport. between Guestbook and playing games with Southwest credit cards signup promo to get companion pass, along with the flyback, we make out on pretty good.
SW points and companion pass is a big reason we have been able to go to Cancun as often as we have the past few years.
We are stay and play as well. Never really understood that one. Maybe they are tied because we never used the cash back in stay and play but have gotten back via Guestbook. Wonder if you can get both as they are separate?
