This was our 1st time at TTR.. The good (which is actually great) Loved the resort & the atmosphere. Everything about the place was perfect to us. Met lots of fun ass peole, none I will name because my memory is bad. Adam, Frances, Alejandrio "sp" ,Diana, Charlene, and that will do it for my memory of names. The room we had "1132" was perfect. Amazing what a couple of dollars a day will get you with the maid service. Had the buffet once and that was enough. Getting into all the other restuarants was easy. The comfortability factor at the sexy pool was great. It took my wife "who has never been topless" at a resort 30 minutes to take it off. We will be going back 4 sure soon as we can. We never once got sick and crazy enough, I was never hungover a single morning. We were earlybirds though, made it past 11:00 twice "which was fine" Got plenty buzzed during the day. The Bad: Nothing bad to report, other then like many people here told us b4 our trip, don't waste the money on the "Temptation Suites". We had one our first night and we felt so secluded from the fun it was not worth it. Like Donald mentioned, the room is goofy as well and takes all the fun out of a jacuzzi room. Do Not Waste Your Money unless you want no interaction with others at your room. The resort refunded the rest of the upgrade and we spent the next 6 nights in a jacuzzi suite by the quiet pool. If you are looking for something that gets you involved after the pools have quieted down, I was glad i brought my Bose sound system hooked up to my laptop. We had so many people stop by because we were their entertainment source once the music shut down. We were getting requests by the quiet pool on what to crank up. It made it fun. THE UGLY: American Airlines. It still makes me cringe a bit even recalling what went on with our flights. We left Minneapolis at 6:05 am , we had a stop in Miami. Our first flight was cancelled and rebooked at about 4. We got out to the tarmack and the air shut off. We then had to re-board another flight and made it to Cancun 8 hours late. We were so tired it killed day #1. We arrived at 8:30 at the airport. PISSED! AMERICAN AIRLINES PART 2: We needed to be at the airport by 12:30 yesterday. We were. We went through all the security bullshit and it was time to board the plane. Guess what? we are delayed again. The flight was delayed so bad that we had to fly to Dallas and spend the night there. We got back to Minneapolis at about 11:00 this morning. AMERICAN AIRLINES PART 3: We are planning to email/ send a letter to them about this shit. Anyone know if they respond? They took 2 days away from us and there is nothing fun about sitting in an airport for 2 days of a vacation. THE END: Everyone at the resort was great. The patrons were awesome and we will be back again as soon as we can find a way. We will not be flying AA unless it's FREE! Steelersguy
Glad you guys had a great time, sucks about the Airline...definately worth a shot to get some sort of compensation... Glad to see no one got sick and that you will be back again. thanks for the trip report
1132 I ve stayed in that room twice, its perfect right by the pool a quick dip to the swim up bar and back to the Jaccuzi Isn't the staff great ??? Can't wait to get back
Thanks for the Trip Report. I would have booked with AA, yet their layover times is way toooo long. We want to get there as soon as possible...We are Flying Continental to Houston then to Cancun. Time between changing planes is one hour. I just don't like the Houston Airport. It takes forever to get from one terminal to the next. Almost missed our flight out of Houston last year. They waited on us as we were about 7 minutes late.. That was a little scary... Don & Pam
Thanks for the TR....each one I read gets me even more excited for July!!!!! It also keeps me motivated to pop in my Jillian MIchaels dvd..lol
hey you guys, enjoyed meeting you. sorry to hear about your flight problems...hope to see you again sometime soon...charlene
Great trip report!! We really enjoyed meeting you and Stephanie and had a blast hanging out with you guys!! Thanks again for the bracelets LOL I can't bring myself to take it off yet... we'll probably wear them all year as a constant reminder of an awesome week!! haha And I'm sooo sorry to hear you guys had problems on the way back too!! I really hope you get some sort of compensation.
Glad to hear about the good, and nice to hear nothing was bad. My number one rule of flying is to avoid Miami. I have had decent luck with AA flying thru DFW, but I would not fly AA thru Miami if it were free. I am pretty sure Sun County flies direct charters from MSP. I am not sure how the cost is, but sounds like it is worth it.
