The "Cubes" Arrive for the Beach Project

    These are the cubes they will use to make a curved artificial structure off shore ( a groin is the technical term someone says) as a barrier to help keep the sand on the beach and heavy waves out.

    It will be located out by where that little islet is now off of the Hyatt Regency as can also be seen in the drawing.

    Us Brits call them groynes Jim. Groins to us are something different :)

    Must admit I didnt know longshore drift was a factor in the beach erosion.

    Thanks for the update, I wonder though if this structure is going to affect the wave action and turn that area into a millpond.... which wont be any good at all for the current ecosystem.
