My last (hopefully) cigarette was Nov. 27th. I made it Sunday, and hope I can make it again today. It hasn't been as bad as I thought. Mostly habit. I keep reaching for them. I hope I can get rid of this disgusting and expensive habit for good! I've been smoking about a pack and a half for about 26 years! Time to stop! Terri
My prayers are with you....I know it's tough to stop......my dad has COPD and still lights up an puffs the darn things! You would think that someone who is on oxygen would give up the smokes....but he can't. Good luck to ya! Michelle
Terri, Congratulations!   I know what you're going through, I quit over 10 years ago, and it's not easy.....BUT it is SO WORTH IT! Just think of all the money you'll save, and put that money aside for CANCUN! My husband was also a smoker, and through a routine chest x-ray we found out he had a tumor in his lung. He had no symptoms, he never even coughed! The tumor was malignant, and he had a lung removed. He was off work for over 4 months, and the recovery was long and hard. My father died of emphysema, he was a smoker for many many years. I know it is a terrible addiction, and very hard to stop.... But focus on the postive...you'll SMELL a LOT better, you'll LOOK better cause smoking causes wrinkles around the mouth and your fingers won't be yellow, you'll SAVE a lot of $$$, and you'll LIVE longer!!! I'm pulling for you!!!!!!
Terri, Hang in there mate, you can do it! I smoked my last one on June 8th this year (At Cancun airport!) and am well chuffed with myself! If I can, you can! Janie's right - it's not easy but so worth it. Good for you I say. Jen
Terri...You can do it. Just day each day as it comes. My hubby "golfinguru" has been smoke free for 11 days now. I know it's hard, but as Janie said, there are alot of positivies. Maybe you can take all the money that you saved and go to BBG twice a year Or take your granddaughter on a special trip...just the 2 of you. That would be a great reward. Good Luck sweetie and keep us posted. Angie P.S. Try www.quitnet.com it's another great website for people trying to quit smoking.
