So what is the protocol for tropical storms and hurricanes at the resort? How frequently have they shut down in the past? What do they do with current guests? Wait it out on site? Send them home? Move them inland?

Depends on the storm, a small one and they'd probably just move everything inside.

If it starts getting big (such as Wilma) tour companies tried to get people out as fast as possible. Others who couldn't get out got to ride the storm out in a shelter.

While I admit I've always wanted to experience a big storm like that on some stupid level, I sure wouldn't want to be around a category 4 or 5 storm for more than a minute or two lol!

It will most likely break up, maybe a little rain but nothing major. There is a lot of wind sheer moving south.
