Driving down the road yesterday in the brilliant sunshine with the top down on the Mustang, US flag flapping in the back we could only be grateful at the sacrifices made by so many for so long so we could live in fabulous freedom. If you are a vet we are grateful to you!! Big hugs...As for us, our 23 yr old son is in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in the middle of this murky war (he KNOWS it's murky, he's a voracious reader) which makes Memorial Day weekend poignant for us and his wife...
These patriotic holidays certainly do take on a new meaning when someone you love is serving! My oldest son is on his second tour in Iraq, currently in Kalsu, and my second son just graduated basic training and is in AIT. His unit is set to deploy to Afganistan sometime after January 2012. Tell your son how much we appreciate his service!
They certainly do take on a new meaning when you have someone there. Our middle son is in Afghanistan. We are looking forward to our December trip to Cancun, but right now are focusing on and counting the days until his mid tour leave coming up in July. Tell your sons thanks for serving.
Beach and J/LTN You both are so terribly correct. Seeing that flag wave in the breeze makes me tear up a little now knowing our kids are on duty...Huge hugs to you both and thank your boys for their service please! We were lucky enough to attend a deployment party 1 week ago and it was refreshing to see such a clean-cut respectful group of young men. Took us way, way back to better days. As for Beach, can we send you a shovel to dig a tornado shelter????????
Tell your servicepeople that are serving, thanks for the sacrifices so that we may have the freedoms that we have---------------signed Army vet GOD BLESS THEM
