Had a blast in Cancun in July, but thought about trying Cabo next. To all the people that have been to both, which one do most prefer?

very hard to compare the two - not really fair as they are only alike in that they share the same name

from those whom have been to both its about 50/50

    we prefer cabo.

Suggest you take a look at the destination cities too. The two Cabos cities are kinda sleepy compared to the nonstop action in Cancun. There isn't that much to do in Cabos other than a trip to the arches/corner of ocean and invented tourist activities such as dune buggy rides in the dessert and etc. I knda felt tourist trapped in Cabos, but that's just me.

As far as the resorts, Cancun is large enough you can get away from people and it has 3 pools so you can always find a place that fits your mood. More dining and entertainment choices. There are also things like pool tables in Cancun. Basically more things for people to do.

Cabos is smaller, less food choices, you can't swim in the ocean, one pool and chairs always taken. Has a huge hot tub with isn't really that hot temperaturewise but very nice and open late nights. Fitness center is some scrap exercise equipment, but you can get a pass at heathclub across the street if into working out.

It comes down to a preference thing, both are good so don't worry, neither one is mistake. Personnaly, I prefer Cancun for both the resort and desitination city.

Both are great, and if you ask 100 people you will get 100 different answers. Personally, I like the resort in Cancun better, but the cities better in Cabo.

the beach at the resort cabo is beautiful and the beach in cancun ---- well there really is no beach lol

while you can get in the water in cancun not sure why you would want to unless you like bathing in seaweed......and yes you can still enjoy the beach in cabo - you just need to be smart about it and take precautions - several in our group enjoyed the beach everyday and got in a little bit they just were not stupid about it...oh.....i was not one of those who got in :)

They dredged sand from a near by sand bar for at least a year, there are palm trees on the beach now as well.
