Sucky because it sucks. Ha sorry but yeah it isn’t the best. Most people hang by the pool which is where the party is. I see from another post that you have been to breathless. If beach matters a lot I would stick w breathless. If you are looking for more fun, better party (with more limit pushing themes) then TTR is worth trying.
Oh and specifically why. It it more like a bay with boats docked at both ends. The water has less waves than breathless and doesn’t have as pure sand or as blue waters
We love a nice beach, but feel like we can get that if we go on excursions or go down the beach a ways. We were hoping the beach would be nice, but we can't pass up a good party
On a slightly more positive note. It does have more naked boobs than your average beach, it is close to the party, and you can actually get in the water there, even if the water isn't the best. At Golden Parnassus the waves were so large most of the time you really couldn't get in at all. Don't know how that compares to Breathless.
No one has mentioned the sea lice, that aren't actually lice at all......or the raw sewage entering the bay about 150 yards to the left.............. ....so glad those rumors aren't true!
Raw sewage? There is a white plastic pipe on the bottom across TTR beach, coming from the dock where Boobs Cruise starts. TTR maintenance could not explain what the pipe is for. For good swimming and snorkeling, take a catamaran trip from TTR to the swimming place they know. They do trips daily.
It appeared in April they were pumping in sand from deeper water to build up the beach. If you go up to the SkyBar you can definitely see it ad you could see the sand flowing in a haze like fashion. You could also definitely see the white sandy patches forming. And the maintenance guys would move the hoses around each day. The ends of the hoses were marked by little floats. Dont know if this is legal hence they may be keeping it on the down low. I think I have several photos but dont know how well they show it. Will compare in Aug to see if there is any change. Also there were the 2 guys in the water in long sleeve white tshirts on their knees up to their necks each morning digging up rocks over near the small TTR dock and throwing them under/near the dock. I think this has bern the case for awhile. And every morning there is the seaweed beach clearing/raking patrol. All in all I think they are trying to make a better beach. As others have said it is not a ocean surf beach but more of a tranquil bay beach with little to no wave action.
The beach is no Bueno, although they have really improved it over the last couple years. The pool is so much fun that you will forget about the beach. But you are right, you're just a short bus ride from plenty of good beach if that's your thing.
