    Hi Folks:

I'm a new poster here, never been to Temptation. Last year, we spent a week at Desire, and loved the resort, but thought the "activity" was about a step and a half beyond our comfort level. This year, we're going to throttle back and give Temptation a try.

At Desire, I picked a Suite just because I wanted a nice room. As it turned out, this came with a bunch of other perks we didn't know about until arrival. Namely, we got champagne and snacks every afternoon, a personal butler, reserved beach beds, and most importantly, guaranteed dinner reservations wherever we wanted to eat. I didn't realized it before booking, but apparently, if you weren't in a Suite and weren't a member, then there were only 3 reservation spots open each half hour in each restaurant. So, people who paid $200 less than us for their whole trip ended up eating at the buffet each night, because they didn't get the lucky reservation slots.

If I had dropped $4K for a week at an all-inclusive, and gotten stuck at a salad bar each night, I'd be pissed.

So, now going to Temptation, what's the comparison? I'm thinking about a Jacuzzi Suite, or Temptation Suite, again, because the rooms are nicer. Does this give us more of a chance of getting good restaurant reservations? What about beach beds? What do we need to do to guarantee getting one each day?

My question boiled down... Does the more expensive room come with more perks, or do you have to join their timeshare to get those perks?

Thanks folks - we'll see you in November.

We have booked and stayed in the 'cheapest' (but not necessarily the worst) rooms at Desire, Pearl and Temptation, and have still yet, ever, to eat dinner in the buffet. And have always had the beach/ pool beds that we prefer.
It's not what you know, more who you know, or how you are....:daisy:

The only real perks is the room itself. We were in a Temptation Suite last year and loved it for the two air conditioners. So that was a great perk. Melissa liked the perk of putting on a show for the jet ski rental guys while showering.

we have been to Pearl a couple times. We have only stayed in the standard rooms. We have never had any problems with getting any reservation we wanted. Beach beds or pool chairs have never been an issue either. It sounds to me like they advertise those as perks, but really they are available to everybody.
I'm not sure what you saw that didn't agree with your comfort level. If your referring to the nudity at Desire and the PDA's at the jacuzzi you won't have most of that at TTR. Maybe some nudity on occasion during the pool games. If the things you saw at Desire didn't agree with you, you may want to avoid a Boobs Cruise.

@Danny&Jenny: There's nothing we specifically _disliked_ at Desire. It's just that we were there during a "Lifestyle Takeover." Swinging isn't our cup of tea. That said, that group of swinging folks provided the most fun, partying atmosphere we've ever encountered. So, we really enjoyed everyone up until about 11:00 when they "disappeared" and we just did our own thing. Then we met up at breakfast for another day in the sun.

The wife was a bit unnerved with the public sex acts, mostly because we didn't know what to expect, and the most graphic display happened on the bartop directly beside us on night #1 We actually had to move our drinks :wink3: The woman involved was participating without her husband's blessing, which created a lot of drama, to say the least. Aside from that (which left us feeling bad for the husband), it was the best vacation we've had.

Nudity was no issue with me, and the wife didn't mind being around it, but hesitates to participate. She felt like the oddball being the only one with her bottoms on, so she thinks TTR will be more here cup of tea. At less than half the price, I'm willing to give it a shot.

@GoGoBlanco: Thanks for the insight. Do you mean that it's simply a matter of politeness? I've learned that on other trips - a smile and a $5 bill go a long way with hotel staff that have a normally boring and thankless job. If you have any other suggestions on the "inside track" (i.e. who to make friends with to secure the room we'd like, or a primo beach bed) then it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks all!

I understand now. I didn't know you were there during the lifestyle take over. I think TTR will be perfect for you. A lot of partying and you will probably only see body shots around the bar and pool area. There is the occasional exception.
