We just spent 6 days at Temptation Resort from November 1 to 6th. It was our 5th trip and first time post renovations; we normally go in April and this was our first time in November. It's our personal take and some might not agree with it. We didn't experience any of the horror stories some experienced in the early days post-reno, everything was working in our room so no complaints there. Anyways here it goes:

ROOMS (4.5*): Rooms were easily my favourite part of the resort. I know people say they don't spend enough time in the rooms except to sleep, so it does not matter to them. Well we spend a lot of time in bed so it TOTALLY matter to us. In the past the shitty AC, made us sweat and be sick all the time cause of the humidity and mould, I could never had a good sleep, I was lucky to be able to sleep 4 hours. In the new rooms, oh boy, comfy bed and pillows, great AC and super quiet (except when they were drilling and hammering upstairs in the construction of Sky Bar 3.5). We were in the 6th floor so after construction is finished this place will be super quiet. We slept at least 8 hours each night (from 5AM till 1 or 2PM). The Bash Tower rooms are about $150 extra per night but I think is well worth it and I won't be going to the Garden ones unless they tower is Sold Out. Nice sofa and seating area to entertain for pre or after parties. And yes they have room service that delivers you food and drinks 24/7. Ran out of beer one day at 4:30AM and got re-stocked in less than 5 minutes LOL... Rooms were a 2 star pre-renovation. My only complain this trip was my maid, which I tip $5 each day and never got a smile nor funky towel designs not even re-stocking fridge. Maybe she was pissed she had to do our room after 2PM each day LMAO...

RESORT (4*): The new resort is pretty kick ass, I totally love the new design, it does look way classier now. Common areas, including lobby, waiting seating outside Sutra or even washrooms are nicer than before. The staff is great as usual, friendly people from bars to restaurants. WiFi is also pretty good now all around the resort. In the past it sucked ass big time, you would only get signal near the business area and wasn't free; now it's free and decent speed. No more need to recharge my Mexican SIM card before going.

    - "Bash": The new disco area (ex Patyo) is way better, it has beach and pool view so it's ventilated (no more sauna finally!!). It has 2 big screens, female/male dancers and excellent light and sound system. The location of the seating booths is kind awkard though, just the first one closer to the middle is in a good place.

    - "Sexy Pool": The new pool is beautiful and big! And maybe that part makes it feel a little empty and is not the same as before. I found the crowd tamer in comparison to previous years, and maybe the size (almost double than before) promotes that effect. People were hanging more in the Premier hut bar and the bar outside of the pool instead. The loungers inside of the pool are a waste of space and they should seriously remove at least half of them since no one uses them.

FOOD (3.5*): I am very picky with food although I don't eat too much. I can say that overall the food improved in the resort, before I would had given it a 3 star. Here's a more detailed review of the different places:

    - "Sutra": Was my favourite restaurant. We sat in tables since we were in a group so we got a la carte and not Hibachi. But I loved the shrimps there. Next trip I would try Hibachi since that looked yummy and the show entertaining.

    - "SeaFlirt": This is the seafood restaurant where the old Asian was located. Some items in the menu looked yummy, not sure how it was since we just had an appetizer here before heading to She. We later regretted not staying with our group, since SHE was a dissapointment.

    - "She": Totally overrated in our opinion, not sure what the hype was all about. Food was mediocre for a "supposed" high end 7 course dinner. The show was a boring strip dancer doing a 3 song set. It's supposed to be a romantic setting, so only 2 seat tables, no groups allowed. We will skip this place in our next visit.

    - "Rain": Was the dinner buffet one, the food was pretty decent and an improvement over the old buffet.

    - "Romanza": The italian dinner was decent, well at least the shrimps I ordered. But I heard from a few others that they got stomach sickness after eating there, so I guess not all dishes are safe.

    - "Flame": The meat restaurant we did not had a chance to try it, so will need to review it in our next visit.

    - "Amores": Is the lunch bar & grill. I miss my Fajitas! Those were my favourite out of this place and they are not part of the menu anymore. The Guacamole is now fake not natural and the Pico de Gallo is sub-standard. This restaurant is a lot nicer physically but the food is worse.

    - "Breakfast Buffet": Was decent and an improvement over the old one. The Omelettes were pretty good IMO.

    - "Lunch Buffet": This was better than before as well, and actually I find this better than AMORES for lunch.

BEACH (3*): Well no surprises here, the beach is not that good as usual, but you don't go to Cancun for the beach, and the resort has no control over this. The extra algae and smaller beach in November compared to April, drops it from 3.5 to 3 stars.

DRINKS (2.5*): I might not be a food junkie but I like my booze good quality, and sadly this area has remained almost the same as before. Good quality vodka listed in website where nowhere to be found (no Ketel One, no Grey Goose). Mexican versions of Smirnoff Red, Skyy and Absolut are a guaranteed headache in the morning. Red and White wines in restaurants is drinkable but I can find better wines under $12 at the local liquor store. So I will revert back to bringing my liters of Goose and Ciroq next trip and just get mixers at the pool. Only thing that improved are beers. They got Tecate, Corona, Dos Equis and some others in can, so no more shitty draft beer that bloats you like a freaking balloon. Thanks to beers I upgraded this from 2 to 2.5 stars.

So in conclusion the new Temptation is kicking ass big time; and to be honest I think it's worth the increased price tag. The party just got better, we had a total blast last week and we can't wait to go back in April...

    Great report, thanks for posting.

Have to say I've never had a problem getting Grey Goose, also quite happy with the Absolut.
