Ok, this is a bit embarrassing, but my wife and I don’t know how to dance and are a bit self conscious. We just got back from Temptation and while we went to Bash every night, we didn’t dance because we didn’t know the steps to the songs. I know, we didn’t get drunk enough. That aside, it was pretty clear that there were half a dozen songs that everyone (else) knew the steps to. We are want to learn, so when we go back in the Spring, we can participate more. So the question is, does anyone have the Temptation/Bash playlist? We figured if we knew which songs were played, we could find the dance steps on YouTube or something. Thanks
My theory has always been just dance next to a good looking woman. That way know one notices you if they do they figure you have to be good in bed because why else would she be with him. People are always pointing at me and shaking their head so I assume it working.
We havent been in a few years but one of the easier ones that was going on back then and is still bein played today locally (mostly at weddings) is the cupid shuffle. Next you gotta get someone to teach you how to dougie Have fun!!!
Thanks! Cupid Shuffle was definitely played regularly (although I had know idea what it was called). I did recognize Fireball, Havana, Thriftshop, Uptown Funk, Handclap, and Mamba #5.
Do you mean the line dancing like the Electric Slide or Wobble, or Macharana, or Cupid Shuffle, etc.? Or like Superman by Soldier Boy , etc. Many others do not have “steps” per say and you just find a grrove and move like a rigid white nan with no rythm like me...and I dont really like to dance but my wife loves to. So I do despite my lack of rythm. It is her vaca too. Renember no one knows you and no one gives a shit. And if they do know you from TTR they still dont give a shit. If they hold judgement ditch them quickly! Hey if you cannot dance at TTR you cannot dance anywhete!
The ones you probably saw were the Wobble, Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle and maybe Cotton Eye Joe. Other than going out and doing them with a crowd I’m not sure how successful you will be at learning them. My wife does them all as the result of going to far too many weddings. The good thing about these dances is that there is usually a bunch of people doing them. About 50% know what they are doing, 25% are people like me with little rhythm and 25% are so drunk they don’t know what direction they are facing. Get in between the drunk ones and those that know what they are doing. Smile have fun and you will pick it up, it aint the tango. Of course unless you’re like me and have zero rhythm. In that case you’re better getting everyone a refill at the bar during the song. That way you don’t knock everyone over on the dance floor and are everyone’s hero when the song ends.
Temptation is the only place I dance. I am so bad that at least one night, and on one trip every night we were there, a good looking woman has felt so sorry for me they come over and try to teach me to dance. Still can't dance but it sure has been fun getting all those free lessons.
