It has been over ten years since I have been to Cancun. I will be going next month with young children and staying in a time share. I would like to do a big Costco or SAMs Club shopping trip when we arrive. Years ago, I would hire a taxi to take me. Reading through the posts, I don't see any positive info about taxis. Suggestions? Are there other car services available? Thanks!

If you schedule a pick up from the airport from USA Transfers with return at the end of your vacation, they will make a stop at Walmart or Costo for you on the way to your destination for a few extra bucks, I think its a additional $30 for they guy to wait for you while your shopping. This is a trusted company that a lot of Cancuncare Members use

Or, take the bus to Walmart, Sam's is next door, as it's only 8.50 pesos per person and then a taxi back to the hotel zone. That may cost $10-$15...don't offer any more. There are no negatives to this other then it's a rip off to take a taxi out the the hotel zone when the buses takes you right there.

As for Costco, it's a bit trickeier as the bus doens't go by it. I leave 5 minutes from Costco, so the best thing to do is to take the R-2 (15). Ask the driver, La Luna? It will say La Luna on the front window also. Tell him you want to go to Costco and sit as close to him as you can. He should motion for you to get off when the bus turns right onto La Luna in downtown. The Big Soccer stadium will be on the left...you can't miss it. Walk down the that main Street, Kabah (stadium still on your left) and you will see a MEGA Supermarket right after the staudium. Costco is in that Plaza. Super easy really to get to. Again, Taxi's are there... no more then $15 to return to HZ.
