Just wondering if anybody knows (or if someone is there and can ask) what the cost is for a taxi to the tourist area in Playa del Carmen? In pesos would be more helpful than USD. Thanks!
You can take a taxi to the ADO bus terminal and I believe it's $16 each round trip right to 5th Ave in PDC. The bus stops at 2 locations in PDC and Puerto Morales in between, comfy buses mostly empty.
We've taken the bus and the collectivos from Cancun to Playa (and down to Tulum). You can grab one right across the street from the ADO bus station in Cancun (just take any tourist bus headed toward the city and it'll stop there), then head across the street to the line of white vans. The fare is something like $2 (you'll need pesos) and they're air conditioned and reasonably comfortable.
