Thought it would be interesting to see how all of us handle the yearly tax task! We just did ours last week .. always do them early as we buy enough RSP's each year to guarantee a refund (aka the Cancun fund!). Hopefully the refund cheque will arrive soon ...
Let a local tax accountant do it for us (refund, yay!). Last year and the year before we did them on TurboTax. Year before that was H&R Block. And all the years before that I did 'em myself...usually over the phone (I was dirt poor and met the requirement to do a Telefile).
Usually do them in early Feb as soon as all docs are in hand, online with TurboTax, because we NORMALLY get a refund. This year had someone else do them and now just waiting for April 16 to drop the checks to IRS in the mail. Trina
I do them ASAP, its just something I want to get out of the way, especially since I always seem to have to pay New York State. I hate owing them $$$, just want to be done with it.
Because Jayson is a DeeJay and owns his own business, there's so much of the "stuff" that I don't unner-stand, so we have them down for us by his accountant.. It works for us...
