Are there and places that look clean and reputable for getting a tattoo while we are there? We both want one, but don't want any disease from getting it. Who knows where to go?

Pretty sure there is a place right on the resort near the towel hut. I think they do henna, real tattoos and piercings. We never really looked at what was offered but are pretty sure it's there.

A word of advice..........find a piercer or tattoo artist "at home"......visit them.........talk with them..........see their art........shop around for the style you're looking for. Tats are almost a forever thing......make sure you get what you really want!

I would suggest doing it right before you leave, not really the environment you would want to leave it exposed for your trip. Ive heard in the past people have gotten them infected. Sand, saltwater and sun aren't the best combinations for a new tattoo.

Bad idea. Tattoos take a good while to heal, need to be kept dry and out of the sun. On holiday? No.

We both have tattoos already. We are just thinking about getting one while in Mexico. But we know they need special care so we would likely do it the day of or the day before our departure. But we would want to make sure we can trust the place we get them, which is why I asked.

Don't do it. For a start you're risking an infection, you'll ruin your holiday as no pool, keeping out of the sun etc. If you want a tattoo be very sure of what you want, talk to artists, check out their work (including seeing it in the flesh) & only go with someone you're completely comfortable with. A tattoos for life, you don't want to regret it........
