Anyone who lives in northern illinois or indiana got one hell of a light show last night, and I dont mean fireworks! One of the craziest storms I have been through in awhile, I had a few friends at the cubs game and they wouldnt let anyone leave as tornadoes sirens were doing off downtown, which is all but unheard of in chicago! They got hammered!! As did we, amazing lightening all night.....even in to this morning. Have another batch about to hit us soon...............crazy night I will say that!! If anyone else experienced it I hope you enjoyed it! haha
We see some good lightning shows here too.. Especially if you are up in the hills.... Speaking of storms, hope everyone down around Texas/Louisiana are ok through the Tropical Storm.
It was nuts Jason! Overturned semi-trailers on I-80, tree trunks uprooted and fallen over, power outages, viaducks all over the city flooded, garbage strewn all over everplace from the dumpsters that got turned over..... Clean up crews have done a fantastic job tho...most of it gone before the morning rush to work.
That storm went *just* south of me. We heard thunder and did have some rain. There was green on us on the radar, but the reds were 10-20 miles south of here. Darn it! Missed out again! I swear, we rarely get bad storms here. They either split in half and go around us, dissipate over us, just go around us or something. I love storms!
I saw some of the lightning beyond the outfield they replayed on SportsCenter today. Amazing! My brother in law had to drive to Davenport, Iowa from here (just north of Rockford, Illinois) last night, during this storm. I did check the radar when he was leaving and thought to myself he's in for a hell of a ride! Sure enough, his usual 2 and a half hour drive was easily 3 and a half because of this storm. He said just what you guys said, it was brutal! He had to keep stopping.
Best lightning show we've had in a while. We are about an hour west of Chicago. Our daughter is a student @ NIU in Dekalb & she said the storm was really bad there, High winds & lots of rain  Scott & Lori
