We're headed to Temptations Nov 16-22. Can anyone tell us about the Dolphin Tours? Will there be anything close to Temptations in Cancun, or will there be a lot a travel involved? Someone please tell me about the water. I keep reading that the resort only supplies 1 bottle of water a day. We are water addicts to recover from our alcohol intake. I guess the water is undrinkable, but is there a shop at Temptations that sells water? I'll buy it if I have to. Thanks!:lotsofmichaelfs:
a lot of ppl have their airport transfer make a quick stop at wal mart....i dont know about the dolphin tours...i know there is a link on the main page that explains em though
I would go get checked in to Temptations first and find out about their water policy. Seems like an all inclusive would include water. Someone reading these posts probably knows the scoop and will tell you. To get to walmart from Temptations go outside the resort find a bus stop on the Temptation side of Kulkukan and catch a R2 bus. 8.5 pesos. Tell the bus driver 'walmart' and he will tell you when to get off, or any local on the bus can tell you too. To get back from walmart-- as you leave thru the walmart door turn left, as soon as you get to the street turn left and walk about 50 feet to the bus stop (parada I believe) and catch a R2 back to temptations. The tours I've been on included transportation and they came rite to the hotel and picked me up.
Can't help with the Dolphins but the water, yes! The water is drinkable at Temptations. I've drank it without any problems on several trips. It is a purified water system, I believe. Some people say it smells. It may. The maid will leave you a large bottle in your room daily. It is 1 quart or larger perhaps. Leave her a couple dollars and a note asking for extra. The bar fridge usually contains 2 beer, 2 cokes, 1 diet coke and one V-8 juice(or tomato juice, I forget). You can buy water in the gift shop in the hotel. But it is cheaper at one of the stores nearby. There are a couple within walking distance(across the street). Or Walmart if you are so inclined.
Dolphins - The most convenient is at Plaza La Isla in the Hotel Zone. Click on the Entertainment Plus link at the bottom of this page. Another great option is on Isla Mujeres, about a 20 minute boat ride each way. Water - get it at the C store across the street. It's not worth the time to go to Walmart if all you want is water. If you want booze and food AND water, take the R-2 bus as jayg says. And also, as jay says, the bus stop back to the hotel zone is different than the one that drops you off a block from Walmart. You can follow the crowd as you get off the bus, toward the tall antennas, or to the left of the building with SUPER FITNESS DAMAS in big red letters.
I will start by saying that I work for one of the dolphin companies, but am posting as "me" and don't have my work hat on and will mention all the options. There are several places, as mentioned Isla Mujeres is great, it's an all inclusive day and a nice trip (ocean enclosure). La Isla is in a pool (not my favourite way to have the dolphin experience). Wet n Wild has dolphins too, again, in a pool. You can have a dolphin experience in the Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras with Dolphin Discovery (natural lagoon) or in Xelha or Xcaret (lagoons) with Delphinus. Delphinus also has a Riviera Maya facility, on the highway, in a pool. You can go to Cozumel too, but I think that's a bit out of your way. Steve (the owner of this site) has dolphin tours available here Swim with Dolphins in Cancun and Riviera Maya
It's got to be the isla mujeres experience for the dolphins you can strike a deal here when we went there was 8 of us but only one going in with the dolphins. this \really is a fantastic day and take your camera as there is so much going on and whey hey all drinks meals etc as much as you can consume over the course of the day a lot of good sights on the way if you hire a buggy also the floating island as you head round. def something for everyone here you just got to do it for the day of a lifetime if not then its only your loss.:soccer:
