Just recently looked in on this. We have flights booked for May. From what I can tell is that they will only issue you flight credit for future flights.
As of Friday, all airlines that fly within/to/from the US have been “directed” to give refunds, not just travel vouchers. Feds direct airlines to refund passengers for canceled flights
We had a flight booked with Sun Country. We cancelled our trip and received credit toward future travel. Hopefully they don’t go bankrupt!
Specifically for canceled flights by the airline... If you cancel yourself then they're only required to give you future credit.
We live near the Sun Country headquarters at the Minneapolis airport and drive by it frequently. Seeing a lot of their planes parked makes us sad. Hopefully they can make it thru this.
