I was just wondering if any of you know if Walmart has the sugar free sweet and sour or margarita mix in Cancun? I hate drinking calories if I can avoid it, and I know that a lot of mixed drinks can have upwards of 1000+ calories if you are drinking from a large tumbler (like I plan to!!). My goal is to not gain weight next week, if possible :bang head: and I really try to avoid sugar as much as possible!

I can buy sugar free sweet and sour mix from Walmart here in the Seattle area, but don't want to risk bringing it in a checked bag if the air pressure causes a problem with leakage :icon_mad:

Just wondered if anyone noticed the availability of sugar free mixers at the stores there.

Also, is there any problem with the water quality (I know, stereotyped question, but every stereotype is rooted in some fact)? Should we be worried about the ice in our drinks? The last thing I want is to get sick that way!!

I hate the stupid liquid rules from the TSA - the next time someone tries to blow up a plane with sunblock or sugar free mixers (or shampoo etc.) then I will be more willing to comply - but for the love of ... grrrrrr!!

We take liquor in our checked bags and have never had an issue with leakage. We do take the precaution to pack them carefully and put them in a sealed plastic bag. Not sure if Walmart in Cancun has the sugar-free stuff.
    Have a great trip!

SNAP!! Just found this online! Awesome!!

    Mango Margarita Mix Singles

Ordering powder sugar free mixer in strawberry margarita/daiquiri, mango margarita, and regular margarita flavor - as long as the water is ok, we are golden!! I was going to bring Crystal Light singles, but this is WAY better!

I know exactly what you mean those mixers were super sugary. Another alternative would be to use club soda as a mixer..

I like to use Mio in my drinks. Bacardi and water + Mio is awesome! But my bathing suit doesn't have pockets! So I'm not sure what I'll be drinking!

Baja Bob's Mix single packs are great - MIO's are a pretty good mix and go a long way, too much makes it to sweet so watch the squeeze!

I have to use the mixer, am a hard alcohol wimp!! Can't use just club soda - even diet sprite would not be enough to hide the liquor taste :) I am just hoping that my order from Baja Bob's gets here by Friday!! I can't buy that stuff anywhere in Seattle, used to be able to get it at the grocery store in SoCal or at BevMo (the best store known to man, and one of the things I miss the most about CA!! But WA may get out of antiquated prohibition era liquor laws about a month from now - one can only hope!!). If my order doesn't arrive, I will settle for Crystal Light twice as strong - but I <3 the sweet & sour.

Does the resort have flavored vodka or just the regular Smirnoff?
