ya i have a fear of the water but the booze cruise looks so much fun so that leads me to my question ..how safe is the booze cruise ? Steve over the years have you had any momment s? once again thx for the info
Its a big boat you have nothing to worry about. If its too windy they cancel them. You should enjoy it. Nick and Renee
Over approx 60 cruises and around 2000 people we've not managed to yet lose anyone overboard. We did have someone once get into difficulties while snorkeling, he refused to wear a lifejacket (which is mandatory) and jumped in anyway, the currents can be pretty strong and they were on this occasion. The Captain of the boat dived in to rescue him. He kept a very low profile for the rest of the trip. The boat is a 52 foot catamaran which means it has two hulls, this means it is very stable in the water and not subject to the rolling around a single hull boat would be. Besides the water really never gets rough in the sheltered 8 miles of water between the Cancun mainland and the island. If it ever does then the harbormaster is quick to suspend all boat traffic. Nothing to worry about!
Although I haven't (unfortunately) been on any of Steve's booze cruises (yet!), we have on several trips to Cancun, taken catamaran and trimaran trips across to Isla Mujeres. I can say straight away that only real problem you might have is if you get too hammered the night before and board with a fierce hangover. Not recommended ... Otherwise, enjoy! Even if you're not a strong swimmer, you can go snorkeling with a life jacket on and do very well - it's easy - trick is to RELAX in the water, breathe normally and just look around. Of course, you can just hop in the sexy pool with your top off and let your natural "floaties' ensure you're safe ...
