    Stayed there a few years ago, it was a beautiful beach, but bad rip tides, Feel bad for the poor folks that saved and scrimped for their "dream" beach vacation.... there must have been a better way for the government to deal with this. Pissing off tourists isn't smart. jmao

    Too funny, I stayed there when it was the Fiesta Americana in 1990. We were just in Cancun a few weeks ago. The beaches were very depressing... Glad to hear they are going to rebuild them again.

    Wasn't this hotel previously the Continental Villas Plaza?

    I think this was the old Hyatt.

    I find it very interesting that given the recent tourist related problems (swine flu, etc.), that they would continue to p*** off even more tourists! :shock:

    Yes, and before that it was a Fiesta Americana. It's changed names several times.
