Hi, Does anyone know if Chinos, Amy & Stacy are still at Temptations? Also, what about Veronica and Suzanna? Are there any new activity people? 11 days and counting for us (for our 11th trip)...can't wait!!! artytime:
Chinos, Amy and stacey were all there when we were there the week of April 4-11 not sure about the others tho.
Gosh, it has been awhile since I have seen Chinos. Hopefully, we will make it to Desire this year and maybe a daytrip to TTR to see some folks. James
Just got back on friday. Another great trip. Suzanna quit about a week ago and move to san fran or LA. Also Amy has givin her 2wk notice and will be leaving Temptations in about a week
Yeah I just saw a posting where they were looking for new activities members, wasnt sure which one left, must be either a tough job or a bad job, seems lots of turnover lately... years ago, they would at least stay for a while b4 ending their contract and moving on.
I think they're under some very unique pressures. I remember T (Taryn) saying bosses would watch them from inside with binoculars, making sure they didn't talk to anyone too long; want them to move around. T said it felt like they were spying on them. They want people involved in games, but it can be tough getting people to join in sometimes. They'll tell them, "no swearing", "no nudity in games", "tone it down", etc. Some guests (like us Cancuncare crazies) complain it's getting too tame. And people who would have been happier at the Hilton write bad reviews on the comment cards, complain about Chinos, swearing, nudity, all sorts of random stuff. IMHO, Chinos is the heart and soul of the resort. As Rob always says, you don't go to a resort for a particular staff member, but Chinos is one hell of a great entertainer, emcee, etc. Works his ass off to try to get people to have a good time. The whole activities staff is sort of in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. Memo to self; be sure to say nice things about the staff on the checkout survey cards.
We think TTR needs to remember just what made them so popular, the risque atmosphere. There are many TAME adult only resorts in Cancun, and if TTR is not careful, they will fall into the same catagory. Chinos and his wild attitude is what sets TTR apart from the rest, we personally preferred the OLD BBG when there was adult style games, and the staff was allowed to entertain an adult crowd in an adult manor. We feel sorry for the staff, it can't be easy trying to tone it down.
