About 35 years ago, my parents had a center of information in San Antonio for the apparitions of Our Blessed Mother at Garabandal, Spain. They traveled all over Texas giving a slide show presentation on this apparition, and those at Fatima, Portugal, and Lourdes, France, among others. Our presentations averaged two a week for about 3 years. One of the photos showed was of Bernadette's body, as she lies dead in a glass coffin in Nevers, France. Reference the pics below. Her forehead sweats when it is warm, but the body does not decay because of the intercession of our Blessed Mother to Our Lord. Her body is not embalmed. Our Blessed Mother appeared to Bernadette around 1865, a few times and left a spring of miraculous water where people over the years have washed, and many have obtained healings of mind, body and soul. Healings from cancer and similar dreaded diseases - over 70, have been confirmed by a body of international doctors. Earlier this month some of this water was used to bless my aunt on her deathbed while at MD Anderson in Houston. For the short remainder of her life she had a smile of peace before she passed away. I didn't know that this information existed out there about her exhumation and examination decades after her interrment, but this blog appears to have provided stuff I hadn't seen before: The Great Accommodation: The Immaculate Body of Saint Bernadette
Psst, Michael, did you read the article you cited us to? It's ghastly in its detail, frankly speaking. Those who care to read it can decide for themselves if I'm just being too squeamish.
