I've never done spray tan before. We started working on our base tan last month using tanning beds.

Find a salon that has someone who actually sprays you..not the machines you stand in. All spray tans fade over 5 days and are gone within 7 days. Make sure you exfoliate very well before getting sprayed, it helps it absorb more evenly. If you have never tried it, I would suggest getting one three or four weeks before your vacation to see if you like the results and if you don't it will be gone before you go.

Just a note.........a spray tan isn't going to keep you from burning?

Spray tan won't last very long at all being in the water all the time at TTR.It will be gone within a day or 2

I find that even a good spray tan starts to come off to quickly at TTR with being in the water so much. And it doesn't come off evenly, so it can look pretty weird.

Stacia's been doing the spray tan for the past couple of years, and the thing is, once down there, you just do the lay-out thing anyway, and you can't even tell when it is wearing off as the underlying skin is becoming tan as the spray is there. Neat, huh!

I just got back from a week at TTR and got my airbrush tan before I went. I exfoliated well before application, and used a tan extender while I was there (they will probably sell this at the salon you go to). I brought a loofah with me in case it came off uneven, but for the most part it looked even the entire time. Wore off by the end of the week, but looked nice for several days.
