Just got an email that SouthWest is starting non stop flights from Atl to Cun beginning Aug of 2014. No baggage fees (unlike Airtran) and prices appear to start at around $350 RT. That's a LOT less than Deltas/Airtrans current $500-600 pricing. Maybe trips to TTR just got a little cheaper !!!
That would be great if the total flight is only $350! I do have my doubts though. Have you ever paid attention to the amount you pay per flight? This year our total flight cost was $543 per person. The airfare was $433 and here is what the governments get per ticket... U.S. Customs User Fee: 5.50 U.S. Immigration User Fee: 7.00 U.S. APHIS User Fee: 5.00 U.S. Federal Transportation Tax: 34.40 September 11th Security Fee: 2.50 Mexico Tourism Tax: 22.58 Mexico Departure Tax: 29.51 U.S. Passenger Facility Charge: 4.50
