    Or, what lives on what passes for a writing surface/home/work command center?

    Nicked again from the Washington Post:

    Sigh. I do enjoy having these things around me, like a child keeping his favorite toys in his bed. Of course, I presume everyone accumulates these sorts of items at the desk where they write or work or read. What are some of the more literary tchotchkes you keep near at hand? Share them with me.

    ==============================

    There's the PC and monitor and feeble speakers barely squeaking out sound. A mountain of paid bills (and perhaps a couple unpaid, horrors!). A box of envelopes, a series of unlabelled oral xrays...I think mine...a digital camera, set of headphones, a practice profile packet, Chaplet of Divine Mercy brochure, two beer bottle caps, a couple educational DVDs for the kiddies, a Spring Creek BBQ kiddie cup with all the rim chewed on (thanx, Nathan). Anything else is hidden under piles of the bills!

    I use an antique roll top desk, so the surface area is quite small. My keyboard, monitor and mouse ... that's all!

    On top of the desk is a lamp, a framed picture of my grandson and a framed picture from my most recent trip to Playa.

    Michael ... bottle caps, dental x-rays and a kiddie cup!?!?!?!
    clean it up!
    :lol:

    Monitor, scanner/printer, speakers, a whole lot of miscellaneous crap, a checkbook, and couple of pictures. The attached hutch has assorted paperwork and files stashed in it and the top is littered with numerous pictures, candles, a crystal vase (lacking flowers), and an inoperative lamp (ha!).

    oh the usual stuff, 3 monitors, keyboard, mouse, laptop, endless building plans and paperwork ... unfortunately personalising desks is frowned upon where i work!
