Smoking at TTR?

Since our last trip (Feb 2010) I have acquired an affinity for an occasional good cigar. However, since I wasn't yet a smoker last time, I didn't pay any attention to TTR's rules on smoking. Can anyone tell me where it is allowed or not allowed at? On the room balconies? By the pool? On the beach? In Paty-O's? Elsewhere?

Also, I did notice walking by a cigar lounge of some sort last time, but I didn't go in and don't know what it is like. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

From what i've been reading, the cigar bar is closed for private events. Which blows. I smoked cigars at paty o's last time I was there. Smoking seemed to be fair game anywhere outdoors. I'll be bringing several of my favorite sticks. And leaving with some new ones curtousy of Mr Fidel.

 

We've never been before but will be bringing some of our own cigars - so we hope nobody is offended.

Oh definitely! I picked up some Cubans in Haiti when I was there this past summer, and they were the most amazing cigars I've ever tried.
