No it's not just you, it's shockingly bad for the last few hours! Can't work, can't do anything. I can barely load this site and that never happens. Why oh why can't we have decent alternatives in Mexico?
It's been down a lot for me too...down then up for a few then down again...makes listening to streaming radio a real pita.
Today i thought i'd do some research on what was available and i found a company called MEGACABLE http://www.megacable.com.mx/inter_residencial.htm , i got quite excited as i saw they were offering 4mb connection for $400 pesos a month, which is a lot more reasonable than TelCels $120 dollars a month! I went to subscribe and of course they are not available in Cancun! You'd think being the most important tourist city in Mexico would mean they might even have something about when it would be in Cancun but no! I submitted a request to find out about when it is coming here, hopefully i get an answer. They are the ones that are doing those YOO adverts, cable, internet and phone for $499 pesos.
Sam, Does Telcel offer internet, other than through Blackberry? WOW, $120 US per month. They must be smoking something.
I pay the 1200 pesos per month for the 4MG services for the last 9 months my level of service has never been over 2800 MB down and the upload is great at 650 MB. Another service level is near that will be 6MB and of course a higher price to boot. I recommend going to Telmex site and looking at the new services they offer, they will not offer it to you unless you go there. Yes Mel mine is slowed down at different time as well, but lots of places are installing fiber around here. If you like to test your bandwidth, this is a good place and it will keep a record so you will know how good or how bad its working. http://speedtest.net/
I haven't bothered to test my speed today, but I can't stream SOMA FM today due to speed probs. My Vonage is still ok, and I'm connecting to everything. But we are definitely slower than normal...God probably heard me swearing about Telmex yesterday.
Come Kim, everyone swears about Telmex. Could be all the fiber they are terminating now, but good luck asking someone there
