Slightly long and detailed report. Tues: Trip started at 3am to get to the airport 2 hours in advance, flew to Dallas, then to Cancun. When we got there we were a bit tired but the room was ready. Unfortunately, we fell for the timeshare thing (the "welcome party" didn't click until after we had come back the next day) at 10:30 the next morning. We went over to the spa and set up for the sensual couple's massage for the next day, then hit the room - 1136. The view FROM the balcony was good, but from inside the room it wasn't fantastic (especially for something like a balcony show), but it was actually great for quiet and privacy. We got changed and headed out to the sexy pool around 4 or so.We got chairs no problem and started to get our drink on, which we don't normally do. We hung out there long enough to see the people coming back from the Boobs Cruise (presumably anyway), but we didn't see anyone we recognized (everyone was a fair distance off though). We had dinner then hung out at the quiet pool for a bit, then hit the "live band" - which was okay, but just a cover band over at PatyOs. We only hung out there for about 15 mins or so then hit the ol' sack (did I mention we were up at 3am?). Wed: So we woke up about 2 minutes before the wakeup call and then ran off for a walk on the beach . . . where we ran into one of the excursion sales guys, who talked to us for 20 mins (we were possibly interested in the parasailing) - then walk on the beach aborted to get in line for the reservations. Let me tell you other new people - that process sucks harder than a pornstar. We were fifth in line and didn't get up to the front until AFTER 10:30. We took the "tour" and listened to the time share thing (which we were seriously considering once the price got lower), said we had to think about it. Hit the spa for the sensual couples massage - it was awesome (and we had never done anything like it before). It was a little disconcerting when they said to roll over on your back, but that went away quickly. . . After we got cleaned up we got lunch and trooped off to the quiet pool where there were still seats. Met Colin and Jackie from the UK who were very nice, then had to get dinner. When we got back from dinner we had a note on the door that said they wanted to transfer us to Desire. After some discussion we decided to do it - so we went to the front desk where they said it was for Friday and Saturday nights, so only one more night at Temptation. OOPS! On the plus side, the top disappeared right around now :flash: . . . Then we hit the stripper show - which was ok (but definitely not the hottest activity in Nice Shoes for the week - that would be the lingerie party). We hit Paty Os for a bit but it seemed dead so we hit the sack. Thurs: Got up too late to hit the sexy pool with a chair, and almost didn't get one at the quiet pool either, but we grabbed the last two. Essentially we drank all day, hit the italian place for dinner (good), then lingerie night! Since we weren't going to be around for schoolgirl night she decided to wear that outfit out (maybe a picture later - we forgot the *&%$ camera, so it's only a cell pic, and I have to make sure it's bueno with the Mrs to post it). It had the schoolgirl skirt that barely covered her bottom with the typical white top (the top is the one from her outfit in our pics, but bottom was considerably shorter and white / blue). I thought she looked super hot :bowdown: . . . She had gotten me blue silk boxers, so off we went - and we met up with Sonia and Michael :aktion030: (from our friends list, who are super nice, btw) and hung out with them for the casino part. Now they say that they've got blackjack, roulette, and texas hold 'em poker, but if that game was hold 'em, I'm Tom Selleck. It was fun in any event (and my wife was flattered that she was recognized by her pics on here - I was not surprised that she was). So after the casino part and the not-awesome auction, they have a lingerie contest (which I hadn't realized). I was playfully elbowing the wife to get up there, then turned to answer Sonia's question, turned back and the wife was up in line!!!! She was "shocked" that anyone cheered for her (I wasn't - and it seemed to me like she got the second loudest applause or so), but she wasn't picked as one of the top three, which was just as well because she said she wouldn't have been able to do the pole dancing. BUT STILL! Then we hit Paty Os with Sonia and Michael, danced until about 1 or so, then hit the sack. Fri/Sat: Got packed up and headed to Desire! We weren't uncomfortable with the undress, but not comfortable to do the undress ourselves (and plus, some of those dudes are . . built differently, if you get my drift). If we'd stayed a bit longer we likely would have tried it out in public (we tried it out when it was dark for walks on the beach). We found the "vibe" from Desire to be more intimate - it's a much smaller resort with a lot less rooms and it's not a hotel, but a bunch of smaller "houses" that have 2-4 rooms in them. I think the tallest building was 3 stories (and that's the one with the Jacuzzi on it). We did see some . . . goings on . . . :bj: and looked in at the sin room after doing some dancing (the sin room was empty when we went by). Overall, we liked both places, and we're definitely planning on being back! We liked Desire a bit more because of the more intimate feel and the better food, but we also had a ton of fun at Temptation. I don't think it'll necessarily be a yearly thing for us (too expensive), but I'm holding out hope for next year . . .
We were surprised - we had checked out Desire but thought that we'd dip our toe into the adult end of the pool rather than just dive in - we were thinking at first that it might have been due to our consideration of the timeshare thing. . .
It happens occasionally Steve, mostly when Temptation is overbooked; offered to couples only and only done the few rare times Desire has space (end part of Sept at Desire is usually fairly quiet). Usually most of the managers and senior EC staff take their holidays during the last two week of Sept). Wayne
It was one of our best anniversary trips ever - so much so that we're really considering going back around Sept 22 next year too! We'd really consider Desire too, but it's so much more expensive that we may not be able to afford that . . . D & K
I'm fairly sure it's super rare - the front desk people had to search around for about 15 mins before they figured out what was going on. . . We had a great time at both places (wished we had seen a few more forum people though) D & K
