we have our bid won the auction, but it took a few exchanges of emails before we were able to settle on dates and flights with the skyauction people. they would not book us on any non-stop flights. we leave in 7 weeks.
Hi, we used skyauction, successfully won two trips, one we leave next Wednesday out of Seattle into Cancun to TTR, and the second is to Los Cabos TTR. Had no problems dealing with the company. The price was quiet good.
All the surcharges seem to run the cost way up. It's hard to tell how cheap you're really getting it.
We have won 2 auctions with them. I have nothing but good stuff to say about them. They have surcharges depending on what time of year you go and early December has been perfect for us. low surcharge, in between busy periods at work and Marlene's Bday. It's costing us $832 for 7 nights in early December. They don't specify what type of room you get but last year I asked for 2nd floor away from patio's and we had a courtyard view with a doubleheaded shower so I didn't see a reason to ask for anything else. Booked flights on my own both times - when you win an auction that includes flights, you are at their mercy with flight times and connecting flights. The right or wrong flights can make a 2 day difference in your vacation so I wanted the flexibility with that.
I've used skyauction a few times. As long as you read and understand all of the surcharges and blackout dates you will be fine. Compare the rate on expedia or other sites prior to bidding will help you really understand if you are getting a good deal.
