Hello, I moved to Cancun 2 weeks ago for a job and now I am sitting in Starbucks trying to figure out how to find fun people who like to go to the beach and explore Cancun. If you are wondering the same thing shoot me an email and we can get coffee. Have a great day! T
Well... I just moved here from Boston. I like good music, the beach and pretty much anything outside. I miss not having my car to zoom around in. I am in my very early 30s and that is about it.. What else is there to know? Oh and I like coffee.
I am a dudette who is a teacher and I like "happy" rock and new country... But really music just have to have a good beat and lyrics I can sing to.. even if I don't know what the words mean.
When I saw the title to this thread, "Sitting in Starbucks" I thought it was an opening to a new Buffett song, along the vein of "Nibblin' on sponge cake, Watchin' the sun bake, All of those tourists covered with oil, Strummin' my six-string, On my front porch swing, Smell those shrimp they're beginnin' to boil" etc. Not sure which Starbucks you were hanging at but you can see many locals at several of them, so striking up a conversation with some, may be a good start. Many local English speaking people hang out at La Taberna on Friday nights. Another great place, but smaller, is El Padrino's on Tulum, a block to the right of Chedraui. There is an International Womens' Club that Rivergirl and others can give you info on. You have come to the right place though to meet new people, especially if you came here on your own, without family, friends and strings. Good luck.
The Women's Club site is here: http://www.iwccancun.com/ You can join their email list so you are kept in the loop on club events. They have a Facebook page too.
Do you have any other interest like midget wrestling, naked yoga or any other group activity or sport. Looking forward to eventually seeing the Hammerheads play.
How I wish my life was a Buffet song. It kind of is currently. I will try to head to one of the bars next Friday and I am on the IWC list serve. Thanks a bunch!
