Can anyone suggest a Sim Card I could buy (and where from) to use in my Sony Ericsson naite J105i in Mexico please? The past twice we have been neither my husband or myself have been able to use our mobiles for texting or otherwise (I'm usually on 3 network, we're from England). I have heard I could purchase a Sim Card which will allow me to use my phone whilst in Cancun - any ideas anyone please?

Roll on 5th September for two whole weeks - whoopeeeeeeeeeee!

    Thanks.

    Alipet.

that's strange. I was there in June/July with a large group of friends from England (I'm from LA) and all of them had their cell phones with them. All of them were either talking on the phone, texting and updating their Facebook pages with no problems. They were doing this on a daily basis.

I think that what you need to do is call your cell phone company ahead of time and advise them that you are traveling overseas and you need to have international roaming enabled. I remember at least two of my friends saying that their provider was Orange.

Phone charges with Vodafone are £1.65 per minute and £5 for 25MB per day on their Data Traveller plan

Check this link - Mexico SIM Card

You need to have an unlocked gsm cell phone (call your local provider) They work on 1900 and 850 frequencies in Mexico and probably ask around at the airport for a telcel shop or prepaid simm card. Somebody will know. I plan to do the same. Its cheap like $10 or so.
