Can those of you that have been to TTR before please give us a quick run down on the basic room amenities? For example, do the rooms come equipped with irons, hairdryers, etc or would you advise we bring our own. Time is drawing near... Thanks!
I just got back, and can verify that each room does indeed have irons, boards and hair dryers. Since my last visit they have finished the upgrades and now you also have a mini fridge (Even partially stocked!) and the safe is now free to use. The one thing that they do NOT have, which I found slightly irritating, (since the time change and all it got confusing to us as to the "real" time) was that there are no clocks in the rooms. The only clocks I saw anywhere were in the gym and in one of the restaurants (Although I forget which.. ) They are also now using key cards instead of keys (which were on chains before) so if you have a lanyard that one will fit in you might take that as well.
That's all great news! I'll remember to pick up a cheapo clock at Wal-Mart on the way in. What voltage do they use there anyhow? Is it 110 like in the States or 220 like in Europe?
There never has beeen any clocks. Your on vacation. Nobody knows ---nobody gives a shit about what time it is, Have fun. Oh and the humidity is high enough that wrinkles fall out of your clothes if you hang them in the closet. No need to iron.
Most rooms also have a small coffee maker and a small fridge..check the TV weather channel for local time...if you can make it past channel 12....
We stayed in two rooms when we were there in May 09. One room had a clock and the other did not. The room with the Jacuzzi had the clock.
The front desk will bring a clock if you ask. Sounds weird not to have a clock in the room, but that is what they do. We usually put our phones in the safe, and it is nice to know what time it is when we wake up from our late afternoon siesta.
Since the rooms have been upgraded some of them have Ipod docking...ours had a clock. My Ipod did not fit the attachment though...oh well. You might pick up a plug in air freshner while at Wal-Mart. Even with the door open all day/night the rooms still smell musty. I get past that by spending all my time at the pool
