do ya get like snakes n stuff in Cancun cos im proper scared of them? Is there any other horrible wildlife we may come across also???
We have snakes here that will kill you within half an hour of biting you, and we have boa constrictors...but they are way out in the jungle and you'll never see one. We also have scorpions in the jungle, and we have crocodiles, and millipedes that are 5 inches long. But you won't see any of these in the city or at your hotel. The only bad things you might see are mosquitoes and, rarely, a two-inch long cockroach.
In 5 years I've seen 4 snakes and 2 scorpions. Not much of a tally really. Had a snake in the garden yesterday that the cats were playing with. Only about a foot long and as thin as a pencil. At least the cats didnt bring it in the house like the other two occasions.
I saw about 50 Iguanas of various sizes when I was there. One of the larger ones jumped on my 7yr old son's leg and took a croissant from his hand. Shortly after that another one bit his thumb. No blood though, it didn't break the skin. Of course none of this stuff happens unless you are feeding them at the El Rey ruins.

I like it when the iguanas bob their head when you are close to them. Such the intimation. Ha! Like has been posted, they pretty much stay in their own space.
I think you should be more concern about mosquitos than getting eaten by a cocodrile .. they can be really nasty when you are not used to them
