We are arriving in Cancun on April 2nd at 7pm and then shuttled to TTR for our first time. After reading alot of the threads I am really getting worried about "overbooked" rooms and not getting a room. I promise if some of you returning guests make sure our room is ready for us when we get there we'll make sure to party like the rock stars we want to be and make y'all proud...doing it Canadian style!!!!:cheerleaders:
We've been 10 times and have never been bumped, it does happen but just be good polite Ontario'ans and you should be fine. A couple of dollars for a tip might help secure a room, but sometimes they won't accept it.
we got bumped a couple weeks ago on the first night but they did take good care of us when we arrived the next morning. Just make your demands before they send you away for the night. Tell them you want an upgrade to whatever you want. Demand it! We were happy with what they gave us and if they want to give us this up grade next year they can bump us on the first night again.
Thanks, that's the approach I was thinking of if it does happen to us...a little batting of the eyelashes might not hurt either...
Thanks for your advice....we'll bust out the Ontario sweetness in the event we get the shaft!!!...lol....hhhmmm doesn't sound so bad after all... Have you already been this season or are you counting down??
ONLY DOING 2 nights at TTR.... better not get bumped... I'll threaten to post so much crap at tripadvisor and other sites if that happens.....
We went in Oct, we've been twice a year for the last couple, but we won't be going untill fall or spring
I posted this response from my travel agent in another thread too, about my concern about over booking. She seems pretty confident. "As for people being moved out of the resort, I don't know where you are reading, nor does it matter. All hotels tend to overbook at times unfortunately and are forced to move people out usually to a better quality resort and or compensate clients handsomely. It's funny how you never read about that though? We have yet to be moved out of the resort this season so honestly I am not concerned and it is nothing that we can do about it. At the time that you are traveling though is not high season and the likelihood of you being moved to a different property are slim to none. I would ignore what you have read altogether and not even give it a second thought."
Had you invited us to go with you this year (I could do mexico twice) we could have ganged up on them... wouldnt 4 people be better than two????:3some:...maybe next year and if you do get bumped just enjoy the ride:angel1:
You know I'll share all my stories and if everything is as fabulous as you tell me it is we may have to discuss our travel plans before we make them next year
