I went shopping in Cancun yesterday, 3 big box stores, including the Chedraui in Los Americas, where I hadn't been in a couple years. Wow!
They had cornbread mix, not sweetened much at all it appears, Jiffy Blueberry Muffin Mix, canned green beans, french cut...Dole Manadrin sections, canned beets (we've got great beets here, but when you've got a great recipe that requires assembly of sometimes hard to find ingredients, they are a blessing!). Canned asparagus and listen to this: They had Campbell's Pork and Beans as well as Bush! Bush Original Recipe.
They had Log Cabin Maple Syrup as well as California brown rice ( but I settled for arroz integral at a fraction of the price); nice to know since
Walmart is very spotty in stocking it.
There was Swanson chicken broth in a box, a nice alternative to cubes of questionable background.
I got Alpura unsweetened unflavored natural yogurt for a better price than Walmart sells it for when they have it!
We also went to Sam's and Costco. Wine was on sale: buy five, get a sixth lower price free and the price for all of them drops as well.
Coscto has come down in it's vegetable prices. We got a huge quantity of mushrroms for 50 pesos. a huge pack of asparagus - enough for three households for 70 pesos, not 70 for a small bouqet. The romain six head pack is selling for 29 peso. The lowest price on Isla Mujeres recently was 25 pesos a head.
My friend shopped maple syrup and was glad with what she got at Costco. We also got steaks there, which is like an investment purchase nowhere you go!
And yada yada yada. It was fun to see price edging down after the past year or so of inflation!

    Hi Isla Zina,

What exciting, it's amazing how those small things we took for granted in the USA can bring us so much joy today only by seeing them, they tend to bring a sense of comfort.

My favorite find at Chedraui to date has been flour, I now get to enjoy certain cakes and I don't have to get the evil eye from my family that would smuggle it is for me.

    Happy Sunday to you!
