Has anyone bought a mini split system recently? I am, of course, looking for a good deal. Either one 18,000 BTU or 2 12,000s. LG preferred. I got a good 6 years out the current system and a bad 10 months out of it at the end. I know Telebodega has them and I have seen them at Costco when I wasn't paying attention. Anyone have the scoop? Thanks.

We got ours for around $4000 at Telebodega 6 months ago. Works great!

    Yes, pesos :)

It works really well. Our bedroom is a medium size, and we only have to put it on 27 degrees celcius or higher to get the room pretty cold.

Anything below 27 and it's FREEZING.

We run it all night most evenings and nights (7 pm to 8 am) and our electric bill is usually around $600 every two months.

    I think it's a Daewoo.

Thanks. I have heard that Dawoo is a reliable alternative to LG. I'm going Monday.

I have 4 different in Cancun: Trane, Carrier, Daewo, LG. Carrier is by far my favorite, very quiet and efficient (bought at walmart).

The ones I found in Florida (strange, no?) are not as sophisticated. Actually, nobody knows that. They have no idea that non-central AC exists

Update: Telebodega does not sell systems (called multi split) of two or more inside units. It sells only single minisplits in mostly 120W power. I did get on 220 Daewoo 1200 BTU with rooftop compressor. There were no 220s in LG. I am ready to get another one if needed. But gee, two compressors seems stupid!

No, it's not. If one fails in July, you are very happy to have the second one. I have 4 of them.
    My LG works in 220V

My old multi split was 220 LG, but I didn't get it at Telebodega either. The LG store near TechnoLuz. Oh well.
