Heh, might be a "funny" question, but here it goes. I need to get new sneakers and just wanted to ask if anyone has seen any "XX % off" signs lately. Checked Marti in Las Americas... Not much to celebrate at the moment. There are a couple of stores on Tulum that sometimes have some decent deals. Let me know if you have seen any ads or similar the last few days. My foot is kind of messed up, so I cant stroll around all too much myself at the moment. Thanks
I guess we'd need to know what you're looking for to really help. It so happens I bought 3 pairs of shoes just today, so I can tell you Sears has 3x2 going on, but I don't know that it will still be on tomorrow.. I think the sign said it was going on during the quiensana/payday (sp?) which should include tomorrow as some people get paid on the 1st... bought 3 pairs of Flexi brand shoes for myself.. getting the cheapest pair "free"... saved a few hundred pesos anyway vs. buying the same three pairs elsewhere... the section is a bit slim though... If brand isn't a factor there are tons of shoe places along Lopez Portillo near Plaza 2000 where you can get some cheap shoes, but don't expect them to last as long as the better made name brand ones will... The elite locker on Tulum has an ok selection.. but generally the "discount" is just their normal price... kind of like the place with the "Last day Going out of business sale" sign that's been hanging so long its faded away LOL...
Rawkus, Check out Marti Tenis at Paseo Cancun. Not the regular Marti. Go past Starbucks and make a right, like going to the bowling alley, and it is on the left. Had some great prices on good shoes last week.
Life: Sorry about that, meant just plain and simple sneakers, such as the classic Adidas lowtop(white with black stripes) ie NOT for running Ill have a look around, just sucks that my foot is playing tricks on me. TJ: Thanks, will have a look today. Are there other shoe-places around Paseos? Thinking bout a cab, but dont want to go back and forth just for one shop.
HMM, for sure there is a Marti that I think is an outlet. It is similar to the ones at the big malls but I think they have closeouts. It is almost dead ahead of you as you pass Starbucks as you walk to the inside of the shopping area. There are lots of comings and goings of merchants there but these two I know for sure were there last week. For what I was checking out, the Marti Tenis was a bit cheaper. The MM Cinemas has all movies, all week for only $35. Seats are at least as good as the regular Cinepolis at both Gran Plaza and Plaza las Americas and are the same films for the most part.
Rawkus, MARTI OUTLET TENIS may now be a thing of the past. I was at Paseo Cancun a couple of days ago and it looks like they are no longer operating. Either that or they were redecorating the store. On a better note for Paseo Cancun, it seems that they are having a couple of big outlet stores coming to the mall.
