Is a shared airport transfer worth it or to get to the resort fastest do you need the privare transfer or even just grabbing the first taxi you see?

I am going to try English this time. Is a shared airport transfer anywhere close to as fast, for getting to the resort, as a private transfer or even grabbing the first taxi you see.

We made the mistake of using a shared transfer the first time we were there. Never again. We always use USA Transfers from Entertainment Plus now. They have a link located at the bottom of this page. Much faster and better service.

On the shared transport you have to wait till they have a full van before it leaves. If you are the last one, then you leave when you get there, otherwise if you are first you can sometimes wait up to 20 minutes for everyone to arrive.

Once you leave, you will stop at each hotel that has someone on the van. They usually start at the south end of the hotel zone and make, on average 4 stops with TTR being the last. Now you can slip a $10 bill to the driver when no one else is looking and say "Temptation first?" If he accepts then he will start at the top and TTR will be first.

That being said, if you get lucky and get there last and the driver accepts the suggestion, then you can get to TTR as fast as a private shuttle that will always leave when you arrive and go straight to TTR.

So it comes down to a decision on cost. The shared van is up to, I think, $13 PP each way. So a party of 2 round trip is $52. Throw in the $10 suggestion and you're at $62.

USA Transfers is $55 for 2 roundtrip.

Hopefully that helps answer your question.

Definitely dont get a cab. Real taxis are not allowed to pick up at the airport, only drop off.

The cars actually marked as a taxi are a private company and only operate at the airport. They charge more for one way than a private transfer costs for return - about $60 one way as opposed to $55 return with USA Transfers.

We are sharing... but only sharing a private USA Transfer. It is the only way to go.
