It seems to be the consensus on this forum that in order to ensure getting a chair by the sexy pool that you should get it "reserved" by 9am. My wife and I DO NOT wake up before 9am while on vacation, especially after a day and night of drinking. What do the late risers do, go to the beach or quiet pool? Once packed out, does it usually stay that way all day? My wife is a sun goddess, and will not go for just hanging out in the pool.:beer4:
The week we were there we saw open chairs up to about 10am. There's very few chairs by the quiet pool so doubt you would have any luck there after 9am.
It's busy we usually got out around 9:30 or 10 we would find a couple chairs, sometimes just one but that was enough. Usually by the end of the day we might have 2 chairs for 4 people. mainly was a place holder for sunscreen and bikini tops. Everyone moved around so much we never have a problem
Honestly, if it's warm, the water is where the action is, and even in the pool, your wife will be able to soak up the rays. You can almost always find one random chair, which you can give to her, but trust me, you're going to have sooooo much fun in the pool, neither one of you will want to take a break to lay on the chair. Also, there is a big area near the pool tubs where the water is only about 6 inches deep. It's the perfect place to lay that's cool, but still be exposed to the "rays."
My favorite spot to "relax", get sun and still see/hear the action at the sexy pool, we hate to miss a single thing!
Being a tad freakish we're up at 6am no matter what time we party till and we see a lot of people down the pool getting the front row chairs. In May there was usually some back row chairs available up to about 10am. We used to keep some for people but to be honest pandorareigns is spot on because we used to spend most of our time in the water.
We are usually up early too to exercise a bit and reserve chairs with our towels. We have only had one issue in the past 7 trips with some douche that didn't seem to (want to) understand how things worked. After trying to be nice with him for about 15 minutes, he finally moved after we got security (he was sitting in the middle of the 6 chairs we saved and refused to move down to the end so we at least had 5 together). Then he fell asleep in the 'activity area' and the staff ended up picking up him (chair and all) and carrying him over in front of the bathroom. He wasn't too happy.. but I guess that's carma.
we were just there- off season, and got a chair by the sexy pool almost every day no problem as long as we were out there by 10am
Dave, I'm so glad you brought that up. Last year was the only time that we had issues with people taking our chairs. I guess they assume that if you use a hotel towel to reserve your place it means anyone at the hotel can use it. Which might be true if you are attactive or at least nice. That guy was fugly (I said it) and rude. Not a good combo. After him came the woman who sat down on my stuff, swimsuit top and all. The towel I can maybe understand but sunscreen and a top...hello??? This year I'm bringing my own towels so there is no debate about who it belongs to.
My problem solver :icon_idea: for this issue has always been to bring a small waterproof bag for the towl, put it behind the pool bar and never leave, haven't had an issue yet.
