It's got worse in Britain...You wouldn't dream of leaving anything of value in plain view and you'd always lock up before paying. The latest thing is SAT NAV systems...Police are advising people to even remove the little rubber windshield sucker as this would indicate you had a SAt Nav onboard and would tempt a thief to break into your car to look for it!!!

Sensible people over here shred every bank statement, credit card statement or anything personal before discarding as thieves rummage through bins.

    What a Wonderful World...Oh Yeah

It is so scary to think about. I like to think I am cautious but you never know.

yeh, I insist on shredding most of my mail...even especially certain junk mail. Reminds me I'm way behind...I got about two garbage bags to go

It used to be just violent crime you had to worry about...Think these guys figure that a mugging is too much hassle and the rewards are potentially greater doing it the easy way..And it's easy to make it easy for them...

You'll be missing that luxury if you ever move to Austin. Sure, they get "cold" snaps once in a while, but a weeks-worth of temps in the 20's doesn't quite match Quebec's winters, eh? :)

    Two words: Drought alert

Three more words: Burnt embers drifting

But, seriously, paper is great to help build up a fire for the BBQ.
