I am heading down on the 21st and the forecast calls for Thunderstorms for the next 10 days? Really?!? What is the weather really like down there these days for those of you that are living there now? I thought July was the dry season?

I have a little widget on my desktop that is meant to do the forcasts of weather, its powered by weather.com. I think every day for the last week was meant to be thunder storms. today it was so hot I had to come out the sun. They very rarely seem to get the weather right here. No idea why.....

Benuk is right- weather forecasts here tend to be very misleading: the seasonal weather pattern which we have this time of year involves hot humid weather with occasional thundershowers

It "rains" some nearly every day but typically for a short time: these showers tend to be localized and it can be raining hard in one part of town and ten miles away not rain at all all day

What choice has a weatherman got except to predict "rain" each day: he's got a good chance of being right much of the time even if the sun was shining for eleven hours out of 12

Forget the weather forecasts: come on down and have a good time- but don't forget the suntan lotion!

July is the rainy season, as is all of summer here. But like the others said you should get some sun and if it does rain it is usually not for too long.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping the weather forecasts were wrong. Sounds like they are and a little bit of rain here and there is fine, just don't want the whole week to be rained out.

We are headed down this Friday, I see the forecast pretty much everyday says 50/50 chance of T-Storms. Like V. said, if you predict a chance of rain everyday, I guess the meteorologist at least has a chance of being right! O well if it rains, I guess we get wet, I won't let it spoil my vacation that's for sure.

We've had a couple of thunderstorms in the last 24 hours, but they didnt last long and the weather is clear and sunny again. Not as hot and humid as it has been though.

And from my perspective, I work in Suncare and this has been my most profitable week so far. Sunscreen and Aftersun Aloe are selling like crazy.

Ok, did I just see a news report of a possible hurricane or tropical storm headed toward Cancun this weekend? If so, what's the name of the storm? How likely is it to hit Cancun? I just saw a brief glimpse of this on CNN this morning and haven't seen it anywhere else on the news.
