I hate to get all serious on you folks but: What does everyone do about a cell phone down in Cancun? We would like to call the kids a few times while we are down there. Any suggestions?? I don't remember what we did when we went back in 07'. Thanks in advance for any info!!
We had the kids call from their Verizon cellphone or the home phone to our blackberrys and they worked just fine.
last few years att cell worked great-voice & text. i think the internation plan is abiut 69 cents a minute. beats the hell out of the last land line call. about $45 for 3 minutes.
We have Sprint and it's somewhere's around a buck and a half a minute with the international plan.......... Come on June 21...........
We add international to our cell plan but you can get an international calling card probably cheaper.
if you cell company can verify cost I would say use it, if not get a calling card when you arrive in Cancun, you can get one next door at the convience store for $10 and it will be good for your trip. Our carrier USCellular has always told us to be careful since they don't know what we will be charged by the cell towers. Have not checked yet for this trip but not holding my breath.

Ive done both, ive added international calling to the cell plan, last year it was 50 cents a minute... But I usually buy a phone card once I arrive
I have Sprint and my first year there I didn't get service but have been fine ever since. Don't forget about roaming charges!
