    Hello all,

First of all, Merry christmas and happy holidays to everyone! I have a quick question and hoping someone can help me. What is the fastest/easiest way to send money from Cancun to Canada? For example, could a Mexican have a bank account there and transfer money to a Canadian account, or would they have to go through some other third party, like western union?

    Thank you

No need to use a third party like Western Union if the person has a bank account. They should just ask their bank to do a wire transfer.

Thanks for your reply steve. So to clarify, if the Mexican has a back account in Mexico, the person can wire money from Mexico to Canada?

Yes, shouldn't be a problem at all. I've never sent one myself but I do regularly receive wires from Mexican bank accounts to my UK bank account. Shouldn't be any different for Canada or any other country.

Yeah its probably the same as if you sent between US and CDN.

Bank will probably charge you a certain amount or x% over the current exchange right for processing the transaction.

I transfer money to my property manager from the US all the time. I think the last time I transfer $1000 it cost me $7.00 USD

FYI: Scotiabank is here and it is a Canadian bank. Should make things easier.

@Bruce: I know there is a Scotiabank in Cancun and quite a few at that, but I was told that it is different than the one in Canada even though it is the same name/company?) Maybe that was the wrong info. I may consider going to Scotiabank if possible, I will check it out once I am there.

@Kathleen, wow seven dollars for a thousand dollars being sent is a great price, which bank did you go to for that, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you all for the great info!
