We will be there for our first trip Dec 12-19.

Has anyone been scuba diving with the resort?

    How was it?

If we go does anyone wanna join us for a dive?

    Thanks

I did it a few years ago. If you're comfortable in the water it shouldn't be a problem. It is rushed and I've heard it can be crowded. We lucked out and went on a dead day so it was just the 2 of us.

There's a gent that works at the resort he does diver training and think he helps organize dives as well. Friend of ours has gone a few times think you can organize a dive privately through him so it's not quite as rushed. There's supposed to be an underwater museum or garden like structure with statues and other objects to dive near. There is also a dive with whale sharks as well keep in mind that in order to get to these places you have a boat ride there and back which cuts into your time as well so if you ask for an 8hr trip and it takes 2 1/2 hours to get out there then it'll take at least that long to get back unless you have to move so 5 hours out of your trip is just a boat ride. So you may get 3 hours of diving in.

There aren't any whale sharks at Isla Holbox in December. It is also only permitted to snorkel and not to dive with them. If you want to dive I would take the whole day, come to Playa del Carmen and go diving in the National Marine Park of Cozumel.

Knew there was a spot to go for diving wasn't sure where it was exactly knew from some friends and people we've spoken to at the resort. That's the good thing about this forum someone can spark someone else's memory and even more info comes to light. And like I said be prepared for a whole day away.

Go here: http://www.mydeeplife.com/. They were awesome, we dive with them every time. I got my certification with them, they are accommodating, experienced, know the places to go, and are fun to boot! We highly recommend them.

My wife and I thought about doing some diving next week while over there but the only problem is all inclusive with unlimited alcohol doesn't mix that well with scuba diving. Class rate in Cancun area the diving isn't that fantastic. Cozumel has great drift diving on the walls but that's a full day trip. We did the snorkel with the whale sharks 1 year and that was absolutely amazing! The boat captain estimated 300 in the water the day we were there. It was ridiculous! But like somebody said above that is only in the summertime and is over mid September
