Anyone ever do any diving while in Cancun? We are staying at TTR in June. Anybody know if the resort has a connection for trips? Or any suggestions on dive trips/excursions? :mermaid:
Boris looks after resort certifications and dives for certified divers. He's located at the towel / activities hut by the pool.
U 4 Scuba? We decided to try it last year with Boris. Hint: Don't do it with a hang over. LOL. It got a little complicated, but overall it was a good experience. Email us if you want more details.
We have had many dives in Cancun. Are you a certified diver or are hyou looking for a discover SCUBA? Boris is great. If you are a certified diver he organizes it and you dive with a company called solo buceo. If you are looking for a discover he will take you personally. You get picked up by boat at the docks of the resort. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
The Solo Buceo is the only place around. I've been the last 2 years with them and booked direct. The boat over was a bad experience for me the first time so last year I just took the bus down to the place and it took 5 minutes whereas the boat was nearly an hour each way bc they picked up other people along the way. The Buceo place can be good or bad depending on how many they book. Last year was tough for me bc their main boat is designed for about 15-20 divers, but they cramed 30 of us on there. We were standing room only shoulder to shoulder. Recommend calling them in advance to ask how many are booked for the boat. Aside from that the dive sites are great. Last year I did a wreck dive that you can comfortably swim through the top deck of the boat. Also booking direct with Buceo is a little cheaper than through TTR.
We booked a dive with Boris back in 2010. Sounds like he is still there and should be able to set you up. We have a couple pics posted. We were on a smaller boat than we expected and it was a rough day out in the open water, so it was an interesting trip. No problems with the divemaster or boat crew.
