Safe is not big enough to secure a laptop but my husband took his and left it in the room with NO problem. My husband has a 17.2" screen

You can get a laptop into it. I also leave mine out and have never had a problem. We had Rosalinda as our maid both times and she is great. Gets whatever we ask for and leaves a towel decoration on the bed. A few bucks go a long way.

My samsung 16.1 screen laptop fit, I did have to "work it" by twisting it into place. Just remember the combination or wait until your not drunk to ask for maintenance to help get it out.

I read the title and all I thought was whatever size she deems a good is safe...so any size is safe ;)

Dude, you are on vacation....leave that shit at home! That is one of my favorite parts of vacation....becoming disconnected from the world...shutting off both cell phones and not getting on the internet.

Speaking of technology.... Will our cell phones get service or do I need an international calling card? We use Verizon as our provider.

You can call Verizon and add on a Mexico Plan for $30 I think . http://www.verizonwireless.com/plans3-1/mexico.shtml

Oh - They will work just fine! $2 a minute I think on Verizon. 5 cents an incoming text and 50-cents outoging if your not on the Mexico plan.

Data is where they really get you, super expensive but your phone will work on the network down there so keep it off or in airplane mode.

14" Lenovo Thinkpad fit fine in the safe. We kept our passports, extra sunglasses, wallet, purse, laptops, and spare cash in the safe.

Agreed...if you can. I accidentally (really) got into the whirlpool with my work phone during our first trip. The office was kind enough to send me a replacement, but those were two really good days. :)
