SLOW in here today...whats up????? I've got many more hours to get me through the day...not so many posts to read
hey mitchellfam- just me- also slow here, which is my home office. did you get any of that wacky weather by you? saw the ice and snow all over the midwest- looked kind of bad. about 40 by me today.
yes we did get some weather...but not all the ice like Southeast Oklahoma got...they got a huge ice storm...2" of ice....thousands still without power....and it hit Saturday! here in Northwest okalahoma, where I am....I am about 30 mins east of the northeastern tip of the state of Texas panhandle into Oklahoma....we got about 4 inches of sleet/snow mix. It was perfect sledding, crappy snowmen...didn't even attempt! We have had temps in the teens and single digits...and wind chills below zero....today isn't too bad, the sun is out...but still below freezing, will be until tomorrow, projected to have 33 degrees tomorrow...then ANOTHER storm is in the works to hit on Saturday/Sunday. computer models are showing a foot of snow...not exactly sure of its exact hit until tomorrow and Friday....but definitely some significant accumlation in the near future....I hope we get the most...because I want to build an igloo in our front yard this go around instead of a snowman! Thats what my oldest has asked for...so hopefully we can make one this time...
so far we haven't had any snow here- i think it's been the longest amount of time since they started keeping records we haven't had any- the photo of your daughter is great- i've been diving since 1987- 2nd best only to kicking someone when i play soccer, though i did mess up my foot playing beach soccer at BBG in december.
thanks Its one of my favorite pics from the entire trip that year. I love diving too...me and hubby both dive, I use to work at a dive shop part time and go to school full time not too long ago....he worked around my hours...then those hurricanes hit the area, and the business lost a lot of money due to two group trips being cancelled, somewhere around 20,000.00 loss in that time, so he had to cut somewhere...and unfortunately, it was my job! I was running the 2nd of his two stores, he just had to come in and work instead of me. Understandable, but I sure miss that cool job. We booked travel too...as well as sell SCUBA gear, and training classes....learned A LOT. They finally recouped and hired someone else...but I had already moved onto something in the education realm, since that is my major :roll: Now we have moved to NW oklahoma....no diving anywhere near here....at all...at least in the Lawton area there was a really good lake that was practically all rock bottom, so the visibility was great (unless you had newbies who stirred it up) 15-20ft when they didn't mess it up first. Not much to see, but was good to try out new equipment, log dives, practice scenarios...etc.
totally understand- i trained and grew to love diving here in NY; have done dutch springs in PA (very interesting, but too many crackpots now) and a small private lake that was an old sand pit on the eastern end of LI. when i was at BBG in dec., got to do a 2-tank from the beach- i kind of laughed because everyone was wearing either full or shorties suits, and the water was 79 degrees!!! i was the only one diving with a t-shirt. did see 2 nurse sharks the 2nd dive, and a very cool turtle. it's a shame that some of the most interesting things and sights on our planet are in some areas endangered- and if the coral reefs go eventually, we are in big trouble as a species. i'd love to dive the maldives one day. if you haven't seen "deep sea detectives" (sure you have though)- the book "shadow divers" by robert kurson is awesome- john happens to be an acquaintance of mine; loved the book, as i studied military history in college.

Kind of slow tonight too. It's even slow in the Breakers Forum and that seems to be the busiest forum lately.
hey all- who is watching the NFL this weekend? any predictions? i think indy gets by NE, but barely. and the other- da bears- huge, by like 20. :lol:
I think you are right...Colts will win....and Bears obviously.... Can't wait till the Super Bowl!!!!!!!!!! I love Super Bowl games...
