Me and my family have always stayed at the Royal Sands. We love it there. It is perfect. We love their 2 bedroom villa's. I just called to book a week in February and they informed me that they will now be All Inclusive.... We do not like all inclusive. We dont drink alcohol. We dont like to eat at the hotel resteraunts very often. We like to try different places..... So All Inclusive is not good for us. Especially since the price for our weeks stay DOUBLED!

So I am thinking it is time to find a new resort. We have never stayed anywhere else.... We need a 2 bedroom villas similar to the ones at Royal Sands. We are not partiers. It is a family trip. We love everything about the Royal Sands. Any suggestions? Thanks guys and Gals.

Thanks Steve.... But I beleive the Omni is also All Inclusive...

The gentlemen at Royal Resorts recomended either...

    Royal Caribean
    Royal Islands
    Royal Mayan

He said these are still regular and I dont have to do the All Inclusive.... Anybody have any experience with these resorts? How do they compare to the Royal Sands?

They do have AI but also certainly have 2 bed villas on a non AI basis. Friend of mine goes there often and we have been a couple of times ourselves.

One detail. Owner/members of the Sands have optional access to the AI. That option transfers to anyone we rent our units to. So if you rent directly from an owner (many web sites for that) the AI is optional or in your case you don't need to purchase the AI. As mentioned it is the case that if you rent from the resort, expedia, timeshare trade etc then the AI is mandatory.

I'm not sure you are right about renters not having to be ai.... My understanding is that owners bringing guests do not have to be ai... But any villa without an owner checked in will have to be ai....

It is true, if you rent from an owner the AI is optional to you. Here is how they put it in their FAQ's" (BTW we rent, www.thebeachweek.com )

    7. If a Member loans or rents their units privately will the person they rent or loan to have to purchase the REFINE All-Inclusive Package?
No. The REFINE All-Inclusive Package will be optional for all guests staying in a members’ unit with or without the member being present, i.e. staying as an Owner Loan.
    ________________________________________

note: "Owner Loan" is their term for the form we owners fill out to obtain confirmation numbers for people we rent to.
note II: The Royals are great resorts but they ARE NOT Temptations. They are very much family oriented & side walks roll up well before 9pm.
